I heard that there was a hiking course near my house, so I thought, “Why not?!”. It’s free and I needed some fresh air.
The hiking course took about 2 and a half hours and was fun. It takes you to Jinmuji, a temple that is over 700 years old and in the middle of the forest. Then it takes you to Mt. Takatori. There is an observation deck, and on a clear day, you can even see Mt. Fuji. It was cloudy when I went, so I couldn’t see it. Aww, man.
On the way, you get to go through forests and run away from bees/wasps as you flail your hands around your head! Well, at least I was alone, so I wouldn’t be embarrassed when I all of sudden started running and waving my hands in the air like crazy! Laugh, but, no bee stings here!
How to get to the hiking course:
Get off of the train at Jinmuji Station on the Keikyu Zushi line. There is an area map right outside of the station. Walk out from the station and take a left at the main road. Keep going straight, and at the second stop light, make a right. You will pass a lot of things, and you will think that you are lost or going the wrong way. You will pass a school and a senior home. After the senior home is where the hiking course starts, maybe a 20 minute walk from the station.
